Kendrick Brown, a percussion performer and educator based in the OKC area, holds a Bachelor of Music degree in percussion performance from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU.) His instructors during that time included Professor Micheal Barnes and Dr. David Bessinger. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Music degree in percussion performance at Oklahoma City University (OCU,) where he works under the instruction of Dr. Tommy Dobbs. Over his time in his B.M., Kendrick has played with the Frontier Brass Band, Oklahoma City Symphonic Band, OKMEA Intercollegiate Honor Band, and the CBDNA Southwest District Intercollegiate Honor Band where he held the principal spot in 2024. He has also received several accolades, including the 2024-2025 SWOSU Music Presser Scholar award, one of the 2024-2025 SWOSU Distinguished Scholar award recipients, and the 2023-2024 Joyce Adams Curtis Concerto Competition Instrumentalist Award. Additionally, he served as the principal percussionist for both the SWOSU Wind Symphony and the SWOSU Symphony Orchestra from 2022 to 2025. His teaching experience has consisted of being a drumline technician for various schools across Oklahoma. Currently, Kendrick works as the drumline technician for Guthrie High School.
